My thumbs up for the 1.7-27 version. I really like it.

I like the softer tones and it toke a while to see the difference between 1.7-26 & 1.7-27.

My vote goes to 1.7-26, I don't fancy lines in the margins in 1.7-27, it is although discrete.


The only thing I still woud like to see is the suggestion Karanbir is
to limit the width of the content for widescreen people. To wide does
not help readability.

You can make your application with less instead for limiting the with for 4:3 format. I do it all the time when i write documents in write, I seldom have it in fullscreen mode.
