I believe qemu-image can convert between a few different virtualization disk image formats. Of course that just changes the disk image itself... and not the drivers inside... so if you do convert it (I'd recommend working on a copy)... then you'll probably have to pull the VirtualBox guest addons out... and install the KVM guest stuff... but it shouldn't be that difficult.
