Billy, If it is this Joel Rosenberg you are referring to http://www.joelrosenberg.com he's just another evangelical fundy dispensationalist in the mold of Tim LaHaye and Hal Lindsey. I enjoyed his books (I've not read 'Revolution') but I don't share his theology/eschatology. BTW, one does not need to believe that stuff in order to belive that Israel has a right to exist or to share his concern about Islam.
Also, perhaps beside the point, I found it quite ironic when evangelicals of the Calvinistic bent (although not all Calvinists are dispensationalists and vice versa) criticizes Islam. Whatever these killers and terrorists are doing is simply exactly what their God would have them do in the first place. He's got a plan, you know... (nothing happens without a reason!) My thinking is that the fatalism and cruelty displayed in Islam has its root in the heavily deterministic theology of Augustin but without the moderating influence of the person of Jesus. In the face of utter evil Arabs says "Insha'Allah" and evangelicals say "God has a specific purpose for everything that happens...". How these guys think that they can reach the heart of Muslims with a God like that is beyond me.
