Much as I would like to believe him, I worry that Krauthammer is
reading Western hopes into a Persian squabble. The protestors are
clearly ticked off at their leaders, but I don't see any direct line
from there to either de-Isalmization or de-nuclearization. Obama is
technically correct that there isn't really that much policy
difference between two the candidates regarding the issues we care
most about.
That said, this really is shaping into an extraordinary situation, and
revolutions do have a tendency to far exceed their original impulses.
I agree with those that this is the biggest thing we've seen since
their previous Islamic revolution. Let us pray it leads to a better
outcome...
