This book basically launched the Protestant Missionary movement --
William Carey, though "uneducated", translated the bible into numerous
Indian languages:

Before Carey, Protestants tended towards a strong Calvinism along the
lines of "God will save the heathen when He feels like it", which is
why Carey had to focus on our "obligation to use means". :-/
