David, At least concerning 2010 maybe the difference between us is that I might end up voting Republican also, for more candidates than the Dems anyway, but while grumbling every minute about it. Yeah, you're right about the dim prospects for a 3rd party. Its not much for me to hope for, the chances are less than 1 %, even that is probably more than is warranted, but as far as conscience goes, that's the ballgame. Maybe it never happens. I'd just have to live with that. No way out that I can see, kinda like a sci-fi horror film. But we're still 2.9 years from 2012. I was actually looking forward to one, given the choices of McBackstabber and Oshit. So I'm not so sure that one is going to crop up now, and if a new party does crop up, it will likely be from the Tea Parties (citing the NBC/WSJ poll that came out today). Those folks are more economic libertarian than anything else, but they currently out poll both major parties. As Dr. Glenn Reynolds wrote today, It's because they haven't screwed anyone over, and the other two have. Assuming that nothing comes of that, we are still left with defensive "lesser of evils" voting between the Democratic and Republican parties. Given those choices, it really is impossible for me to support the Ds. So I may come across as a Republican cheerleader, simply because I have no other choice. David
