Centroids : Someone I just saw on C-Span. Smart as hell. Not to say that I agree with him. To the contrary, on a variety of issues my view is close to 180 degrees opposite. His viewpoint might be described as the Iranian-American equivalent of Juan Cole. But, like Cole, Vali Nasr knows what he is talking about and is a walking encyclopedia on the Mid East and Islam. Hopefully I can purchase his new book some time in the coming months. I would probably still disagree with him ( as I still disagree with much of what Cole says ) but for a fact I would be better informed.
