Ernie: Some questions. ( 1 ) What happens to the name "Centroids" ? This is a great moniker and has objective value. If for some reason you simply don't want to use it any more and don't care what happens to it, I would be the first to want to pay for the privilege of a domain name of this title. But if you are retaining domain rights, so much the better. It is your idea, for which you deserve full credit. The point is that it should not be lost to others. ( 2 ) You said something about archives. Have you been able to reconstruct RC archives ? If so I'd like to research them and copy all kinds of stuff. ( 3 ) While we will find out soon enough, how will the "rules" of the new RC differ from the rules ( almost all of them unwritten ) of existing RC ? Dear Centroids, I'm officially "back" from my sabbatical; many thanks to Billy and everyone for keeping things lively in my absence! I regret to inform you I wasn't actually working on anything huge or secret during my time off; I just needed some space to refocus and think through several upcoming large changes (most notably, we're expecting a second child in November!). As part of that, though, I've been rethinking what I want Centroids and RadicalCentrism.org to be and do. After much deliberation, I've decided it is time to shut down this mailing list and the existing website. <dramatic pause while everyone takes a deep breath of surprise, shock, and horror> No, I'm not killing them off. Instead, I think it is time for us to move to the "next level", and the existing infrastructure is too creaky. What I plan to do is move everything to a Google Group: http://groups.google.com/group/RadicalCentrism You don't need to do anything, I'll add all the existing members once I've configured the list. I think I've also figured out a way to migrate the existing archives (after a fashion). Alas, this means I'm retiring the "Centroids" name. I'll always think of you all that way, but I felt it better to choose a name that was findable by people searching for Radical Center/Centrist/Centrism information. As for the existing website, I'm still waffling over whether to integrate it into the Google Group (more central) or refocus it as a Wordpress Blog -- or split the difference. While this may cause some disruption, this should make it easier for me to maintain, and for others to join. Do let me know if you have any questions or concerns, or suggestions for a more effective transition. Assuming no major objections, I'll suspend this list on June 29th and relaunch the new one on July 1st.
