I wasn't able to replicate this one.  Currently, if it successfully mounts 
against the monitor, it will hang indefinitely trying to get a handle for 
the root directory (that part doesn't time out yet).  

This looks a bit like something I fixed last week, though.. were you using 
the latest?  If you can reproduce it, debug output would also help: mount 
with -o debug=40,debug_console (you can turn this off later via 
/proc/fs/ceph).
