The monitor(s) manage cluster state information for the MDS cluster, OSD cluster, and clients. They are the one component that runs at a fixed/known IP address... all other daemons are discovered by getting the appropriate map (osdmap, mdsmap) from the monitor(s). cmon needs a small amount of local storage to store cluster state. The MDSs manage the file system namespace. Most likely you'll end up running the monitors and MDSs on the same hosts... sage ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sponsored by: SourceForge.net Community Choice Awards: VOTE NOW!
