The command: iozone -s $FSIZE -r $RECORD -i 0 -i 1
while $FSIZE was 16 and then 32 Gigs, and $RECORD was 64Kb to 16Mb I have included the script I used as an attachment. However, don't bother trying to reproduce the bug, as I have been getting it consistently on my machines. I will rerun the test with the --debug_ms 1 enabled for the OSDs and send you the debugging output. -Brock -----Original Message----- From: Sage Weil [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, August 13, 2008 10:08 AM To: Erwin, Brock A Cc: ceph-devel@lists.sourceforge.net Subject: Re: [ceph-devel] File I/O error On Mon, 11 Aug 2008, Erwin, Brock A wrote: > FYI, that email I sent earlier with the large attachment (with debugging > files from the OSDs) was in regards to the File I/O error I was getting > earlier while running iozone and testing particularly large file sizes > (16G or more), although I do not know if the large file size is the > cause of the error... Can you pass along the iozone args you were using when you got the error? I'll see if I can reproduce the problem here. Unfortuantely the OSD output you sent didn't have '--debug_ms 1' (message passing debugging) enabled, so it's not easy to tell if the errors were coming from the OSDs or from some problem in the kernel client. sage ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's challenge Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK & win great prizes Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the world http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100&url=/ _______________________________________________ Ceph-devel mailing list Ceph-devel@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/ceph-devel
