I've gone ahead and implemented this. I've submitted a pull-request via Github, visible here:

 https://github.com/ceph/autobuild-ceph/pull/22

I've not tried to replicate the gitbuilder environment directly, so these changes are untested, though should work — at least, once someone's added 'clang' to the list of packages to be autoprovisioned!
