Hi,

*snipsnap*

But I still don't seem to be able to mount a CephFS volume:
mount: /mnt/web: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on
ceph01,ceph02:/volumes/web/www/457c578c-95a1-4f28-aafa-d2c7e9603042, missing
codepage or helper program, or other error.

The program mount.ceph is not installed and seems only to be available from the
ceph-common package.

AFAIK the mount helper is only responsible for looking up the mons (ceph.conf, DNS SRV entries, whatever), looking up the file system if mounted by filesystem name, reading/managing the client secret etc. The actual mount options passed to the kernel are different from the options explained in the documentation.

This also means that you should be able to use _any_ ceph-common package, since the heavy lifting is done by the kernel itself. So the reef version or the version from the rocky8 repos should be fine.

Best regards,

Burkhard
