Minutes from today's meeting of the Ceph Steering Committee:
- *https://github.com/ceph/ceph/pull/68892 <https://github.com/ceph/ceph/pull/68892> PR to effect https://tracker.ceph.com/issues/76442 <https://tracker.ceph.com/issues/76442>* - The proposal is to continue the discussion on the PR - *Permissions to add/update "Labels" in redmine? Requires user to be admin/owner. Should PTLs be a part of those roles?* - The issue is custom fields concept in Redmine that can only be changed/added by a Redmine superuser (or admin) - Not a usual event (few times a year across components), just ask existing admins to create the labels for you - New Business - Debate on: - Motion: https://tracker.ceph.com/issues/76666 - Motion: https://tracker.ceph.com/issues/76648 - https://tracker.ceph.com/issues/76755 - https://tracker.ceph.com/issues/76682 - Election to vote on CSC member removals based on past (few) election participation - draft in https://tracker.ceph.com/issues/76665 - Election votes are not public (implementation of the process can be challenging) - Several concerns about whether that would be possible or not - *Can we fork OpenKMIP/PyKMIP: A Python implementation of the KMIP specification into Ceph GitHub? We need it for example in nvmeof gw, and it is currently unmaintained so we suggest to do it under ceph * - There's no community formed for those unmaintained projects. - Practical risks: security, no new Python versions support, etc - Used by SMB containers, nvmeof and probably by rgw - No clear forks with strong community - There was no immediate conclusion; concerns remain about what the fork implies - Simply having a fork doesn't imply a particular maintenance level - Need to revisit topic again later - *groups.io <http://groups.io> migration (?)* - Your Name on behalf of This List is a requirement - Not clear if this is a real requirement for mailing lists - No way disable receiving multiple copies sent to multiple lists - the alternative seems to be moving back the service to self-managed solution - Lab network policies can prevent from running a mail server on their infrastructure. * New Ceph Security Working Group approval * - Action item: Create a motion in Redmine _______________________________________________ ceph-users mailing list -- [email protected] To unsubscribe send an email to [email protected]
