Hello,

I've been working on Ceph / Openstack integration and I have a couple of
questions.

1. If I boot an instance from a volume, I can't see the storage of that
volume:

The volume I booted from is located at /dev/vda. I'm not too familiar with
Linux filesystem, but from what I've researched, /dev/vda1 is just the first
partition of the /dev/vda disk. If so, why is only the first partition mounted
at "/" instead of the entire disk?

2. When I attach volumes to an existing image and mount them, a small
percentage of the volume storage does not show up:

[Screen capture]

I mounted a 10 GB volume and 5 GB volume on /dev/vdc and /dev/vdd,
respectively. I used mkfs.ext3 so I realize 5% is reserved for superuser and
that explains the "Available" column. What I'm wondering is why in the "Size"
column I don't see the full 10 GB / 5 GB of storage. I looked in rados and
there is no data yet for these volumes, so I'm not sure why I'm missing this
~2% of storage.

Please let me know if you have any information about these issues.

Thanks,
Dan Ryder
