Hi Ceph, Welcome Eric Mourgaya, head of the Ceph User Committee starting May 2014 until the next elections in October 2014.
Founded six months ago, shortly after the Firefly Ceph Design Summit ( https://wiki.ceph.com/Planning/Blueprints/Firefly/Ceph_User_Committee ) is an independent, non profit group of people and organizations from all backgrounds to discover innovative ways to leverage Ceph to its full potential ( more details about its mission at http://ceph.com/community/the-ceph-user-committee-is-born/ ). The head of the Ceph User Committee carries the burden of organizing things and is elected every six months[1]. I've enjoyed doing this work, mostly because it was an opportunity to meet nice people and hear about new use cases. Meetups were spontaneously organized all over the world and I have the feeling that we, Ceph users, are emerging as a community. Eric's first task will be to setup the next online meeting of the Ceph User Committe ( https://wiki.ceph.com/Community/Meetings ) in a week from now. Feel free to jump in if you have questions !
