I've been having good results with OMD (Check_MK + Nagios) There is a plugin for Ceph as well that I made a small modification to, to work with a wider range of cluster sizes

Exactly, thanks Nick. I only have a terabyte of data, and its not going to grow much, if at all. With 3 OSD's per node the 1TB OSD's are only at 40% utilisation, but you can bet I'll be keeping a close eye on that.
