Hi
When we deploy new OSD’s we see an issue where the journal symlink to the
external path we provided with ceph-deploy is not created, instead ceph-deploy
creates a new local journal on the osd itself.

As you can see, /var/lib/ceph/osd/ceph-11 is a journal file but should be a
symlink to /journals/osd.11 (which is created ok as it should and that we see
in the cep-deploy log messages.)
