        Thanks. The first one seems to be the real McCoy (the others are also 
in macports, for what it is worth). I am very reluctant to switch to homebrew 
though since I got macports working well and am weary of the learning urge 
involved in getting the same proficiency in home-brew….

        A different question, did you manage figure out your del link's 
overhead? If not I would be happy to help (especially if octave/mtlab 
availability is an issue), just send me the ping log file (best via a file 
drop).
