I am not currently planning to go to LCA in NZ this coming january, (at least not presently!). If there is someone from here going and would like to give a lightning talk to a sysadmin audience?

If you knew someone who was up to speed on the current state of the art and coming to LCA anyway, and was interested in giving a quick (say 10 minute lightning talk) "bufferbloat 2015: state of play" update aimed at sysadmins, by all means point them our way. > (hasn´t everyone seen Stephen Hemminger do his wonderfully wet demo Indeed, it's a great, practical, "why it happens" demo. My thinking is that sysadmins-in-the-field are most keen on keeping up on the "how do I make it (much) less bad, quickly". If the answer is "use Linux distro released in last N years, get sqm, run it like this" then that's a perfect lightning talk.
