Yes, you just dd the image for the APU2 and then upgrade/downgrade the BIOS. When I tried it, it didn't correctly mount the FAT partition, but it was located under /media/SYSLINUX - so if you need to change the ROM this is where you would look for the files.
What problem did you have with the mSata drive?
