AS you are all aware that we called for a meeting at Silver Court last
saturday to give players an audience with which they could provide
feedback to the executive, the following are the major items that were
brought up and deliberated:
1)Poor Communication: players complained that are usually not aware of
fixtures or when games are cancelled:

*CEZOBAL ensured all that fixtures are sent on time and are usually
found on http://soyapi.com anytime they wish to see whats happening

*All teams were encouraged to get on email as alot of information is
circulated in that medium

2)Unnecessary breaks in the league: Players complained that there have
been some breaks in the league and this has led to some teams losing
morale as can be witnessed with low turn up of teams for games.

*CEZOBAL assured all that the breaks that were taken by the league
were justified and it is the wish of the executive to have continuity
of games.

3)Accountability: Players raised a concern that they were not sure if
CEZOBAL is being accountable especially on funds as this is also one
of the reasons with which the former committee was removed form
office.

*CEZOBAL explained that they operate a corporate account with National
Bank of Malawi which requires a minimum of 2 signatories to cash out.
At the end of the season, CEZOBAL will ensure that the financial
records are released for everyone to see.

4)Changing Venues for games: Players asked why we alsways play games
at Silver and not at other venues. They said it was becoming expensive
for teams to travel considerig that they have to catch 2 buses to get
to Silver.

*CEZOBAL explained that the idea to have games at Silver was to make
sure that particiaption and interest of the game was restored. Further
more, lack of Manpower to organise the games meant that it was
difficult for the league to have multiple games in different venues.
In 2009, CEZOBAL expects to have 7 leagues going on and this will
sure;y require multiple venues and rotations of hosts

5)First Aid Kit: Players raise a concern with lack of First Aid kits
during games.

*CEZOBAL asked each team to be responsible for their players and make
necessary arrangements to have their own first aid kits so that theie
players can use.

6)DEcisions made at CEZOBAL are biased: Players complained that
CEZOBAL is seen to be biased with the decisions that its making. No
particular example was highlighted

*CEZOBAL assured all players that CEZOBAL tries to be independent when
making decisions and that where no common is reached, a vote is taken
by all members.

7)Daud makes decisions and manages the league. Players asked the
committee if they indeed do sit and have discussions or its
Daud,Secretary, who makes all decisions and the other executives just
endorse.

*CEZOBAL assured players that the Secretary does not make personal
policy decisions in the league. Executive members highlighted an
example of the recent complaint by 12 Disciples to have their game
replayed. Members explained that every decision made in the league is
passed through the committee regardless of who initiates the idea. A
lot of activities happening in the league are brain childs of a
different people but are endorsed by the executive.

8)Players to be represented in the Executive: Players asked the
commitee to consider inviting players or team captains to executive
meetings so that they should act as agents for their teams.

*CEZOBAL reminded all that there is need to separate authority and
powers at executive level in league. Incorporating captains or players
in the executive dilutes the essence of having an executive arm of the
league. However, players or team captains are free to suggest agenda
items for the executive to discuss or to call for an audience with the
executive anytime they so wish.

9)New Committee Members should join the executive: Players asked if
they could join the executive.

*CEZOBAL reminded all that its only through Elections or through
BSAMAL mandates that people are incorporated into the executive.
Executive members wondered why only 1 person had expressed interest to
join the executive in July Elections which were supposed to pave way
for anyone interested in serving CEZOBAL.

Players were then asked to wait for the next Elections in which they
could stand for whatever position they are interested in.

10)Executive committee discriminates against its executive members:
players raised a concern that some executive members of the committee
feel they are discriminated in the executive. Players revealed that
they have first hand information on executive members who have
confided in them that their ideas or policies are always thrown out.
Players felt there was a need to have an opposing view in the
executive setup to ensure democracy

*CEZOBAL distanced itself from these allegations and reaasured all
that meetings of the executive are done with a free mind. Members are
allowed to express their feelings and ideas in a free way. As usual,
where you have different people gather different ideas are bound to
rise and there is alsways need to come to one conclusion. Irrespective
of which member's motion, any agenda item that is not agreable by all
members is put to a vote which decides the fate of the committee. The
vote is considered an executive motion and therefore no member can
stand up and distance him or herself from the outcome of the vote
whether it is in their favour or not.

*CEZOBAL distanced itself from any leaks of information at executive
level as only the Chairman is mandated to speak about or for internal
executive matters. In this regard, any information concerning
exectuive meeeting deliberations which is passed on to non-executive
members by executive members is deemed null and void. CEZOBAL
executive cannot be held accountable for the accuracy or fallacy of
such hearsay. Players were once again reminded the committee makes a
decision as a whole and not modulated by personalities as such every
decision arrived at by the executive should be adopted without further
need for clarification.

*CEZOBAL executive is a mature grouping of matured individuals who can
defend or oppose ideologies with principles and facts which are
beneficial to the league, thus no room for discrimination is there for
members who have productive and progressive ideologies.
