morning,
i just want to share an experience that happened last night -thursday 04 Dec-
when some unkown thieves tried to get into my car at the Bwandilo robots. i was
coming from Paul Kagame Road joining M1.
They were about 3 and they came out of the ditches as i waited for the red
light. They all went to the passenger door where my wife was sitting and were
forcing to open the door fortunately it was locked and windows were rolled up.
here are a few pointers i can share:
1)Beware of the junctions especially the ones that are desolate i.e. Sanctuary
robots, Mount Sinai Robots and Bwandilo
2)Always lock your car if its not central locking
3)ALways roll your windows up
4)Ladies, please leave your hand bags below the seat or in front of your legs
and NOT ON YOUR LAP as it is very easy for the thieves to snatch it. I am sure
this is the main target for these guys. Mostly you have your cellphones and
purse inside that hand bag and when its snatched, its a double blow.
5)Be watchful when you give way on junctions,
6)Do not retaliate or come out of your car, please drive away and report to the
nearest police station. i was silly in that i tried to reverse into one of them
but i think this is not a good option since you dont know how many are in the
ditches or what weapons they have wiht them.
One trick i have heard is they are throwing eggs on your window shield and you
are tempted to switch the wippers on which results in the entire windscreen
becoming blurred and you have to stop the car to sort this mess thats when they
come attacking you after you have come out of your car..
This is the period that incidents like these peak and it would be wise if we
all take caution and save our lives and the ones we love too...2009 is a few
days away and i hope we all meet in that year.
