finally we have the BASMAL AGM, illegal as it is -since constitution
says the AGM must be held EVERY year on the second week of October and
this is June- here are thigns we must look for:
-Current BASMAL executives must be VOTED out for
*gross mismanagement and underperfomance..
*Failure to develop the game at all levels
*Failure to solicit sponsorship of the game
* Constitutional violations -There has never been an AGM since
they came into office though constituition demands an annual AGM,
*The executive ceased to exist when the SECRETARY GENERAL and
TReasurer General both RESIGNED...How can you have a commitee with
just a President and his Vice?
there is no new substance that would come out the current executive
committee which comprises of Oscar Kanjala, Jacob Chikoya, Mayeso
Chirwa....these are failed sports administrators and they should not
be given another chance otherwise this game will continue to dwindle.
-Presidents Report, Secretary report and Treasurer reports MUST be
circulated ahead of the meeting so that we can have time to go through
them and contribute during the AGM..am afraid there is nothing to
report on as such they cant circulate anything..This is another gross
violation...
-Remember its the zones to nominate the candidates and NOT candidates
to APPLY to BASMAL, the constitutional says nominations and not
Applications.
-Lets bring in new blood or people who can do something at BASMAL
level, here is my "wish-list"...
President : Barlet MAfuleka
Vice President: Vilanji Nkhwazi
Secretary General: Mpho Munthali
Vice Secretary: Susan Mponda
Treasurer GEneral: Linly Givah
Vice Treasurer General: RAsheed Milanzi
These are people who can deliver given the circumstances
-The proposed new constitution must not be adopted before an election
is done during the AGM due to the changes that have been put in by the
current committee which seeks to protect itself as THEY DONT QUALIFY
to stand in the current constitution. For instance, Oscar has been in
BASMAL for more than 10 years and yet constituion mandates 2
terms..this mean Osacr has been in BASMAL for 5 terms, Jacob Chikoya
has served his 2 terms as per constituiton therefore cannot stand.
I will send to this list the OLD and current cosntitution as well as
the PROPOSED which should not be allowed.
Chetechete sautsa nyama, lets get moving and meet in Blantyre to
protect our game.
