Hourly rates need not be with quality, they may be with Committment to a
project as well. I think of myself as a "good" developer worthy of charging
higher rates with the best of the developers (I hate to brag but...). Why
don't I? Quite simply other things (like having a life, going to school,
etc.) come first.

In this discussion I'm reminded of an old saying "You can have your project
done in any of these two of three ways, fast, good, or cheap. Not all three
though. I like to aim for the "good and cheap" side of things...

Not justifying the rates, and not getting questioned are two different
things. I've gotten questioned about my rates several times before, I just
don't try to justify it. I just tell them that is what my rates are.
