Good point. Perhaps a really rich technology billionaire could start one though... He
or she would have the
political muscle to keep governments out. Millionaires already live on yachts to avoid
paying taxes in any country,
so why not a permanent colony in the sea outside teritorial waters as Marshall
Savage's book suggests. Populated by
programmers and other high tech folks.

While I love the USA I think nation states are past their prime as an idea and are
becoming less relevant to what
we do. The CF community itself is an international group itself - people don't usually
look at the country someone
is from when they post to CF talk - just what they are saying. ;-)
