Rae's Beach Report
------------------
The beach, dear sir, is actually a 30-minute drive from my side of
Orlando. From the side where the hotel is located, depending on which
road you take it is a 40-minute to 1 drive. A toll road will get you
to Cocoa Beach within 40-45 minutes (home of the one and only Ron Jons
Surf Shop!!). And, I-4 will get you to the famous Spring Break
location, Daytona Beach, in about an hour.

I wouldn't say the Atlantic coast is "warm" per se. However, it is
probably warmer than you might be used to up there :). I tried calling
my mom (who lives near the water) for a temp but she can't find it!
However, the beach is still nice this time of year and if you go to
Daytona Beach there are several other things you can do while you are
there besides just being on the beach.

The temp of the water, completely depends on the temp that day. Our
temps are flucuating like you wouldn't believe right now so I don't
know for sure what it'll be like on the coast. If you guys opt to
drive a little bit more south, maybe another 1/2 hour or so, it gets
warmer :).

Alligator Warning
*****************
The Florida State Department of Fish and Wildlife is advising
hikers, hunters, fishers, and golfers to take extra precautions and
keep alert for alligators while in Osceola, Polk, Brevard and Orange
Counties. They advise people to wear noise-producing devices such as
little bells on their clothing to alert but not startle the alligators
unexpectedly. They also advise the carrying of pepper spray in case
of an encounter with an alligator. It is also a good idea to watch for
fresh signs of alligator activity. People should recognize the
difference between small young alligator and large adult alligator
droppings. Young alligator droppings are smaller and contain fish
bones and possibly bird feathers. Adult alligators droppings have
little bells in them and smell like pepper spray.
