I have some sites built in CF and I'd like to switch to something free that
runs under Linux. I was leaning toward rewriting the apps in JSP but am kind
of wondering about PHP. Here are some of my thoughts -- feel free to steer
me in one direction or another.
1. PHP is probably an easier port from CF, but I've written Java apps before
so either way it's not a big deal (I don't think).
2. Knowing JSP will make me worth more $$$ in the future vs knowing PHP.
(Pure speculation based on how much java programmers make now.)
3. Both PHP and JSP servers are available free so cost isn't an issue. And
both play well with mySQL. Toss-up there?
4. Probably more jobs available for a JSP programmer vs PHP programmer?
Any reactions to these notions of mine are happily received. Thanks.
