I would imagine Excel could be imported to SQL but it can certainly be 
imported into Access easily.  Getting it from there into SQL should be a 
piece of cake (don't you hate when programmers say that).  A simple way to go 
from Access to SQL would be to build the table(s) in SQL server by hand and 
then do an insert query.  MS also makes a set of tools available called 
upsizing tools for loading access tables into SQL server.  The tools I 
beleive are free and probably available on their website.
