Gee Sharon, this pretty much sounds like my dream job! The
requirements, the informal but still serious wording..I think that
appeals to almost everyone.

My wife (Asst. sys-admin/junior web developer) is thinking of going
HR. She seems to think it might not be a good idea. This latest string
confirms it as a fantastic idea. Plus she could hire me! Yay! She
could be my sugar mommy. ;)

Sometimes when I write these observational spiels I almost feel like
Andy Rooney....
"Did ya ever notice how non-IT people at work think you just surf the
web all day?"
Maybe I'll do some IT standup at one of the conferences
"Hey all you math grads out there, pie aren't square - pie are round!
*rimshot followed by cold glares*"

Okay I need coffee now.......

Sharon's Job Description - A model for all IT-HR types.
"You'll need to have a small but bullet-proof ego, play well with
others or
alone, and be able to work with little direction. Also, the ability to
talk
geek-speak and plain english to different technical audiences is a
plus.
Hand-coded HTML, some Javascript and ODBC required. Seeing Cold
Fusion,
Flash, Java, and large database administration or development tools
(Oracle, Sybase) on your resume would make us do a happy dance. We're
especially interested in people who've used Allaire's Spectra, played
with
it, or have a vague idea of what it might be and want to learn. This
is
growth hiring, as we have no attrition to speak of. If you're still
reading
and this sounds good, we want to hear from you."
