Ed,
I'm an Ektron partner, and I can say that everything you are describing can
be done with Ektron's eWebEditPro
(http://www.ektron.com/single.cfm?doc_id=36). It's not just a web based GUI
tool to build it on the page, you can go so far as to take an entire word
doc and paste it into the window and when you save the document eWebEditPro
cleans up the code. You should also be able to drag and drop into
eWebEditPro (although I haven't tried that lately) but I do know you can
copy to the clipboard and paste into eWebEditPro as well.

If you'd like more product detail or just some straight forward questions
answered, Ektron is really great at getting you the information you need. I
cc'd David Stowe, my contact at Ektron. Contact him directly if you'd like
some more information.

Sincerely,

Rob Sherman

Subject: Content Management - Drag n Drop images

I was wondering if there are "light" content management solutions that focus
less on back-end workflow (Spectra) and business logic, but more on
front-end ease of use for end-users to submit complex documents with images
and multiple pages.

The simple Ektron interface http://www.ektron.com/single.cfm?doc_id=36 is a
step in right direction but you have to check in each image individually and
browse to get it in there, which just takes for ever.

I'm interested in finding something that allows users to drag and drop
images, or entire HTML documents onto a web pane and automatically "check
in" the content, possibly having some smarts to take multipage documents and
split them up into the data store automatically. The ability to format the
text once the data is uploaded (as with Ektron) is also desirable.

Any thoughts if this is remotely possible?

Thanks

Ed
