You need to listen to more Jimmy Buffett.  He sings about thos ex-patriated
Americans living in Mexico and the Carribean.

ex-pat, for Americans...  or at least me, seems to mean folks that keep
American citizenship but live full time in another country.  Therefore, a
British ex-pat is a British citizen living in America, etc.
