It's similar to mine (just "pra" takes a bit of explaining)
When in a company a few years back (well before that Internet thingy) the
email admin wanted to setup the email as initial then surname (like yours),
but his surname was around 10 letters long (can't remember it now), so he
made a global decision that it'd be first initial, middle initial, then
surname first letter... it just stuck...
As with aliases... being postmaster helps a lot with that <g>
