Mmm, the SCA and Renfaires are generally different - with the attitudes of
each being 'different'. Hrm, to explain that...most SCAdians (pronounced
"skadian") tend to think of Renfolk as posers or simply actors with no
basis in the history of the time period. Some Renfolk look down upon the
SCAdians as being too stuffy and full of themselves. ;o) I've worked both
sides of the fence and occasionally, good people come out of both (or
either) camp.
As for my blacksmithing....um, no I have no interest in making horseshoes
(farrier work). I'm more into making useful and decorative things....mostly
stuff that would've been found in a small town circa 1860. Door hinges,
cooking/eating utensils, knives, candle sconces, etc. :o) It's a lot of fun
to see the expression of some guys when they see me working a piece of hot
metal at the anvil. >;o)
And to be honest, I would prefer the Snickers bar....I hated cleaning up
the yard from all the danged overripe mangoes that the birds 'attacked'. We
couldn't keep up with the 6 or 7 mango trees in our backyard....and the
oranges....and the 10 different varieties of bananas...... :o)
Angl Stewart put into words:
>You do the SCA thing!!
>Thats so cool!! A friend of mine is acting at Renfaire.
>This may have nothing to do with the SCA but I just thought I would mention
>it anyway as being mildly related information
>^_^
>
>So wait..you make Shoes-For-Horsies?
>lol..
>
>And..*peeks into bag*
>its a ...Julie Mango.. :)
>
>Its a nice oblong shape..full..the skin is an almost uniform red around one
>end, tending to a rich green color near the other. There's no spots at all
>on it..it just looks so ripe..and full. And its firm to the touch..
>and...
>and..
>
>*CHOMP!*
>
>oops.

>*licks lips*
>Umm...would you like a Snickers bar instead?
