About one week of actual study time not counting everything I'd learned from
on-the-job experience.
I took some of the sample exams and found out where I was weakest which were
basically the tags that I'd never used in developing and maintaining the app
in my day job (I only started using CF last November and this is my first
development job too). I'd already done a lot of array and structure work so
I was ok there, it ended up being mundane stuff like CFFTP and CFFILE etc.
that I had to read up on.

I'm spoilt with having a full-time Oracle DBA to work with here, but it also
meant that I wasn't familiar with having to do any SQL more complicated than
using wildcards on a daily basis. I bought Ben Forta's book and it pretty
much filled in all the gaps. I only got 79% so it wasn't perfect...(would
love to know what I got wrong!)

I use the book as a handy quick-reference guide too!
