I agree, it's like saying that because people more often get infected with
rabies from dogs - the dogs are more likely to have rabies... If we ignore
the fact that dog bites are more comman then cat bites then it would seem
logical.
To compare the two must first be similar - was did Russia and Switzerland
have the same political systems, as well as general wealth, no! Did Russia
and Switzerland. Were both governments equally as stable, no! Does
switzerland do anything else to prevent crime besides gun training - yes,
did russia do similar preventative methods - no.
Not only that, you've shot yourself in the foot by pointing out that
american crime rates are pretty high on the world scale which has looser gun
laws then most other western countries, such as Australia.
