Yekutiel was a name Moses' mother Yocheved called him. Netanel = combination
of Natan, "give", and Kel, one of the names of God (with the K silent), and
refers to the giving of Torah to Moses. Avital means "dew of my father" or
"springtime", best I could find on that.
& continuing the "education" thread from a while back,
there are 2 main Jewish cultures - the Ashkenazic (Central Europe) and the
Sephardic (Morocco/Middle East).
The Ashkenazic pronunciation of a particular Hebrew letter sounds like an
"s". The Sephardic makes it a "t". So, to a European, the Sabbath is
"Shabbos". In the Sephardic tradition, it's "Shabbat".
(Modern Israel has adopted the Sephardic pronunciation.)
Sooo, "briss" is also pronounced "brit", which is the word for Covenant. (&
the reason for the circumcision)
