Neither do I, but I also think if the education and motivation of people
were different then maybe we wouldn't have so many people on the streets
begging for change. That's the point I'm trying to make...
We won't ever solve the problem by simply saying "get a job" we have to help
people understand that it's in their interests to improve themselves. I
don't think I'm any more capable of earning what I earn than anyone else...
I just had the right motivation... Plus people telling me I could "do it"
rather than that I was a "useless piece of s****" that wasn't ever going to
amount to anything.
Look at basic human nature... We're not lazy, ignorant or selfish by nature!
We can be if the people around us treats us with enough contempt that we
just say "f*** it I'm not gonna do anything" but it doesn't have to be that
way if we just start caring about eachother a little more. Stop seeing
eachother as "welfare cases" or "scroungers" or "layabouts" and start seeing
eachother as HUMAN BEINGS, who at the end of the day are no more or less
phucked up than you or I.
At the end of the day I agree with sombunall of what you're saying, having
said that the idea that our society doesn't create the "welfare cases" you
all moan about is as ridiculous as saying the earth "is" flat. Whether we
choose to believe it or not, each of us is responsible for everyone else on
this planet! The best thing we can do is start realising and accepting it.
What I just can't understand is why so many people find it so easy to be so
unimaginably nasty to eachother. Some of the stuff that's been said in this
thread ont he list makes me really worry about us as a whole, mainly because
some of you are actually PROUD of being capitalist (read: neo-NAZI) people
who are quite happy to shit on someone as they are to talk to them on the
street.
