I saw really stupid film footage on TLC once about an encounter this guy had
with someone in a pickup. He and his wife
apparently were run into by this pickup guy, and he comes out with a gun. So
our faithful husband also comes out with his
gun, held at ready pointing to the ground.
And pickup-guy goes all crazy and starts to scream about Faithful-Husband
pointing a gun at him (the gun is pointed at the
ground and not even raised) and cussing and...the guy just went crazy in
short.
Then the bullets started flying.
Faithful Husband got shot, I believe he survived.
It's the wild wild west in the States. And if you get a gun, you better
spend the time and effort to know how to use it
properly and use it fast. To be 'quick on the draw' in short. Since if you
get a gun it is because you know that someday,
sometime you will use it, so best be prepared.
I wouldn't be surprised if next few years some States authorise gun duels
between consenting adults at Noon to settle
disputes.

And if I were living in the States I'd definitely own a gun. No offense to
the Americans on the list, but it really seems
that the US Society and culture just seems to be locked in a downward spiral
:-\
(or maybe that's just what the Media want all us foreign observers to
think..heh heh).
