OK, but I will mention the Menehune - legendary builders on Kaua'i
basically Hawaiian leprechauns
shy forest-dwellers,
emerge at night to build wondrous civil engineering projects

Umm, I am Irish! I come from just outside Dublin and was raised Catholic
and all that but am very anti-IRA for reasons mentioned in other posts.
Totally agree with you on the land/economic reasons and yeah I'd love to go
back but the salaries ain't as good!
Can absolutely recommend Eire as a good vacation spot, lots of cool places
to go! Mikey D and the antiquity crew, you might be interested in a 3,000
BC burial tomb (read Celtic pyramid) about 10 miles away from where I live.
I always find it interesting to think that before Anglo-colonization of
Ireland, there were the Normans, before that there were the Vikings, before
that there were Celts and before that was a mythological race known as De
Danaan (the source of the fairy myths).
Kinda funny to think Ireland was invaded by fairies at one stage :-)
(Ben B, don't you dare make a pun on Lucky Charms !)
Now if only I could spin some magic with CF....

The troubles in Ireland have virtually nothing to do with religeon.
Even when they began centuries ago it was more about land than religeon, now
its more about money.
Why don't you go to Eire? It's much, much quieter.

That's true, but there's also more than one "trouble" in Northern Ireland,
what with the Orangemen marching around and the violence that escalates
every marching season.
When is that marching season again? I'd like to plan an Irish vacation
around it. I mean heck, I was in marching band, but we never caused any
trouble like *that*! =B)
