Well originally it was going to pay off some more debt we owe - that definitely proves I'm not a republican no? Anyhow it looks like our $600 is now going for surgery on one of our ferrets. He's developed adrenal cancer again, this time with a bunch of other complications. What irks me about this whole thing is that Bush and his cronies gave a very optimistic set of economic predictions as justification of the tax cuts originally. Then when the economy began its downturn, justified the tax cut as a way of jump starting the economy. Then yesterday on C-Span radio, I heard the republican head of the house budget committee say that surpluses and paying off the debt was very bad for the economy. Three years ago this same person was screaming for across the board budget cuts for paying off the public debt.
