If you were stuck on some snow capped mountain with no way out and no
food with two other friends - one a vegetarian, the other a meat eater,

Did some work for the American Vegetarian Association and if I remember
correctly:
Vegan: No animal products whatsoever
Vegetarian: Can eat some animal products: like eggs
