at risk of belabouring the discussion of OT.

1.) the discussion of an OT post by far exceeds the energy of deleting an OT
post.
2.) if I make an OT - the part about the post that isn't OT is the audience.
3.) I don't really know what I am talking about - but the JRUN/TomCAt
question was for a CF page - I am told I need to install tomcat (any servlet
engine) to do a backend server to server thing - for a mapping object placed
within a CF page. I know its a reach but ...

my point - is I nailed the audience I wanted with my post. I don't belong to
the JRUN list, and have no need to today. so what's a guy to do?

Note: this was posted to the community list.

( Is there significant marketing value for a bad idea, if it gets everybody
talking about it?

Any Winnipeg golfers? I have an Ad Hoc tourney coming up ...
Coupon Book format (sort of) with scoresheets for 4 courses in the 'peg.
Each hole is scored by strokes, strokes to the green, and balls lost (FYI
only). and the hole itself it rated for an undetermined as yet criteria.
Scenic, Fun Factor, Overall Rating.

As you finish the courses - you register your results on a web site.

Prizes awarded for. handicapped scores on the 9 most scenic holes, 9 funnest
holes, and 9 overall best holes. as well as overall winners. Oh and your
best 9 holes.

My original idea - was to do it for the season using ?10 to 20 courses? with
coupons etc. and the holes not used for the most scenic would be used to
handicap the players. Next year I guess. Golf as many times as possible.

Discussion about if a post is OT or not should be moved to the CF-Community
list. Discussion about the differences between JRun and TomCat should be on
the JRun list. If you want to talk about the JRun tag pack that simulated
CF in some ways then you can mention it here even though its a JRun issue.
