The whole Iraq 'sovereign' council is nothing but a farce.
America is going to be running Iraq.

Don't you already see the news reports coming out that Iraq will have no
say in what US forces do in Iraq?
Is that respecting the sovereignty of a place?

Think about if the British landed in Florida to help with a problem,
then announced that while it will seek to work closely with Florida's
state government, that state government will have no say in what
operations it can or cannot perform.

If there was someone that I really wanted to head up the INC, but
elements
in Iraq don't like him because he is "in bed" with the US, maybe I would
kick him "out of bed" very publicly. He starts to rail against the US,
thereby gaining respect in the Arab street. Now maybe he _can_ rise to
some
sort of power in the New Iraq, and all the while still has a toothbrush
in
our bathroom.

So, am I just nuts, or does this have merit?

Discuss?
