This is true, in fact, I think that her quote was something along the lines
of:

"Grandpa, If you don't play Dumbledore I will never talk to you again"

There was some Harry Potter special on last Thursday, maybe on A&E, and they
had the clip of the interview with Harris where he told that story...

As to Branagh... maybe, but Gary Oldman is perfect, IMO. Just crazy
enough... In the same special above, he was interviewed and said something
along these lines:

"You know, my children love the Legos, and now they have a lego version of
ME!"

It was OK though - they were strictly digital, and it was taken directly
from the book. I don't know whether it would have been honest to the spirit
of the book to have changed that scene though.

My only quibble with it was that they should have used Kenneth Branaugh for
Serious Black - I think he would have worked much better than his playing
that foppish professor in the second film.

There was an interesting story about Richard Harris when he was first
offered the part of Dumbledore. He said that he was going to turn it down
until he talked about it with his youngest granddaughter. Apparently she was
so enthusiastic about his playing the part that he said after that he
couldn't turn it down without being a cad.
