Bit Lip. Infection?

Hey guys, last week, while I was eating crawfish, i accidentally bit the inside of my lower lip hard (actually a litle bit lower than the lip).  a coupkle of days later, it started to hurt, and now the bitten part is turning white.  I guess it's starting to heal.  But the area around it is starting to turn dark red.  It also sucks cos my teeth comes into contact in that area, making sleeping hard to do, it hurts!  And now i can't talk properly cos my teeth would rub against it.  Surprisingly enough, it comes off with an english accent! HAHA

Should i get this checked out?  Is there a bandaid for the inside of your mouth? haha  maybe thats why it's infected.  no bandaid!
