His son is suggesting donations to the Canadian Cancer Society -- their mother died of ovarian cancer a while back too. I was thinking maybe there was some equivalent to buying a brick for a building fund, but apparently up to $10,000 they don't publicly recognize donors. Neither does the ACS.
I'd like some sort of little memorial to this couple, who were very good to me when I was a child, but I was thinking more along the lines of 500 USD, what it would cost me to fly up there standby. Anyone have any creative ideas for me? I was thinking that scholarship funds can usually be established in the name of of someone, but I was trying to think of something a little closer the their family's wishes, which seem to be donations for research.
