It would be cool to have community profiles that we could view and get a better idea of who is out there both talking and lurking ... hey, there is an idea. Keep offering the list for free, but offer to those who would like pay some sort of membership fee, offer some kind of *perks* ... things like a profile directory and access to the archives. I am sure there are other benefits that could be offered to make becoming a paid member enticing. The community photo gallery page that MikeyD has up there now has certainly helped me to paint a mental image of some of the more verbal people on the list. But it would certainly help to be able to read about each person's personal and professional interests, programming background, family, etc. Just a passing thought.
Peace.

Subject: age, politics, and the numbers
I shifted through all the emails and I got 34 responses. I decided to just
keep the whole data population instead of taking a sample because a) I
needed Doug's age to get a year closer to my starting assumptions and b)
There wasn't an obvious portion to slice off the front end.
There is a good chance that I might have accidently discarded someone's
response. I apologize for this.
And although 1 response shouldn't have too much of an effect on the min,
max, or the mean; it may affect the mode.
MIN: 24
MAX: 68
MEAN: 34.5294
MODE: 26,32
MEDIAN: 33
MAD: 6.2699
VAR 73.7197
STD DEV: 8.5860
