Now here's an unusual view point.... I actually agree with it, even though
my heart goes out to all those involved and I understand their desire for
retribution. But we must prove that we are better than that, we must prove
that we've evolved to a "higher sensibility" otherwise we are no different
from bin Laden and all those of his ilk who give no thought to the taking of
human lives.
Please don't anyone think that I'm forgetting about the outrage of this
event and the terrible loss of life that has resulted, I know what it's like
to loose the person you wake up next to every morning. I lost mine three
weeks ago in a tragic accident and it hurts like hell every minute of every
day that I live. I cried when I realised what had happened in New York, but
having said that, going out and killing even more people isn't going to
bring anyone back, it'll ultimately only cost more human lives and simply
prove to the Universe that we're all as bad as each other and that we have
learned nothing in the last 2000 years.
Well, that's my ten cents worth, if anyone in NYC is reading this then know
that you have all demonstrated a humanity, strength of character and spirit
of community that has touched me (and I'm sure a lot more people) greatly,
words are inadequate to the burden of my heart.
