I'm having to do a bit of research for a client and decided to run some
numbers in google.

Basically I researched out the number of different script pages for each
domain type using the google search filetype:.cfm site:.com

Results are below.

CFM     JSP    ASP
.net PHP
.gov   5,130,000.00    462,000.00   4,430,000.00    603,000.00
1,880,000.00
.mil     153,000.00     16,400.00     568,000.00     29,600.00
134,000.00
.edu   7,510,000.00    910,000.00 10,100,000.00    985,000.00
8,940,000.00
.us   1,860,000.00    658,000.00   5,010,000.00    568,888.00
2,790,000.00
.org 10,500,000.00 3,380,000.00 13,000,000.00 2,850,000.00
11,200,000.00
.com 12,300,000.00 7,510,000.00 18,300,000.00 6,090,000.00
17,900,000.00

It graphs out to some of the following results.
CFM is the top used language for .gov
ASP is the top used language for .edu, .us, .org, and .com
PHP is a very close second for .com
While PHP is also the second used language for .org and .edu, .cfm comes in
a fairly close 3rd.
CFM is also the third language of choice for .com
JSP is 4th in .com, .org .edu, and comes in well below CFM.
.NET (aspx) is dead last, but it pretty much ties with jsp for .gov, .edu
and .us

I was actually pleasantly surprised that CF came out as strongly as it did,
and remember these are only sites Google can see, we know that most of CF
work is done behind firewalls.

Oh and Fusebox sites were about 10% of the ColdFusion sites.
